She held it in long enough. After weeks of calls, fouls, and headlines that didn’t sit right, Angel Reese finally broke her silence. In a bold post that lit up every feed, she called out the league—not with shade, but with fire. But it was the two final words she left at the bottom… that made even WNBA execs sit up and listen.

Angel Reese is not happy with the WNBA.

The Chicago Sky fell to the Minnesota Lynx, 80-75, on Sunday evening. Chicago dropped to 5-12 on the season, while Minnesota improved to 17-2.

Reese, who was named a WNBA All-Star for the second straight year earlier on Sunday, had a big game. She had 16 points and 17 rebounds in the loss. However, she was not happy with the referees.

Sunday night, Reese took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call out the league for their standard of officiating. She was not happy with some blown calls in the game.

Reese took to social media to blast the WNBA’s referees for their performance.

“diabolical,” she wrote in response to a fan’s criticism on Sunday evening.

Reese knows that a fine is coming, in one way or another.

“idgaf. DO BETTER,” she wrote.

Reese is far from the first WNBA player to call out the league’s officiating. Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White blasted the officials earlier this season, too.

“When the officials don’t get control of the ballgame, and they allow that stuff to happen … this is what happens,” White told the media after an Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun game.

“You’ve got competitive women, who are the best in the world at what they do, right? And when you allow them to play physical, and you allow these things to happen, they’re going to compete. And they’re going to have their teammates’ backs. It’s exactly what you’d expect ― right? ― out of fierce competition … I started talking to the officials in the first quarter, and we knew this was gonna happen.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the WNBA handles Reese’s criticism on Sunday evening.
