The WNBA world erupted after Angel Reese’s controversial move—labeled by critics as shockingly selfish. “You’re not going to win games,” echoed across social media, as fans and analysts debated fiercely. But what happened next—on and off the court—has left everyone talking. And one surprising response from a veteran star has turned the tide of the conversation

The two biggest names in WNBA are arguably Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, both of whom are in their second season as professionals.

Unfortunately, Clark has been sidelined as of late with a groin injury. With all of the limelight to herself, Reese has gone on a torrid stretch, putting up some of the most impressive numbers in the league on a night-to-night basis.

However, on Tuesday afternoon, Reese made a significant blunder with the clock winding down after ordering all of her teammates to get her way. A clip of the play in question has since gone viral on social media.

Fans reacted to the play on social media.

“If you’re 1st option is an Angel clear out iso, you’re not going to win games. That’s not her game,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“She should have just tried 5 layups at the other end! It was cleared out to give the opponent 2 points. At least she would have gotten rebound credit?” one fan added.

“She needs to work on her dribble. I think that will improve her game a lot. It’s hard to cross somebody up when you dribble higher than their height,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Reese learns from this and starts trusting her teammates more.
